"We weren't sure which trails would be good for kids, but the detailed guides here made it so easy. We've already done Phoenix Park twice and we're planning the Lough Key trip next month. The difficulty ratings are spot on."

Questions?

Common Trail Questions

Which trail is best for beginners?

Phoenix Park has excellent beginner options — the lakeside walks are flat, scenic, and only take 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on which route you choose. Lough Key also has easy circuits perfect for families.

What's the best time to visit?

Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) offer the best weather. Summer's popular but busier. Winter trails are quieter but bring rain and shorter daylight — check specific conditions before you go.

Do I need special equipment?

Walking trails need good shoes and weather-appropriate clothes. Mountain biking requires a decent mountain bike with suspension. We've detailed what you'll need in each trail guide.

Are the trails free to access?

Most trails are free. Some parks have small parking fees. We've noted any entrance charges in each guide so there's no surprise costs.
